Clara Bow and the USC Football Rumor: From a 1927 Tea to a 1965 Paperback
One rumor has followed Clara Bow for nearly a century. The earliest link we found between Bow and the USC team is a 1927 tea party. The earliest explicitly sexual version we found was printed in 1965, in a book that called the allegations unsupported. The case follows the trail in between, and names the pages we could not read.
